Acts 12:1-17 - Angels Watching Over Me

Date: Sunday, October 21, 2007
Speaker: Michael Fisher
Title: Acts 12:1-17 - Angels Watching Over Me

We've been going through the book of Acts since September 2006, one chapter, one story, at a time, and this week, in Acts 12:1-17, Peter is hauled off to prison by King Herod. While the church gathers to pray for his safety, an angel breaks Peter's chains, opens the gate, and leads him past multiple guards. Whatever your opinion of angels, the Bible is clear that they exist to minister to us, and they're not chubby little babies with harps.

What are You Guys Doing, 2007

Date: Sunday, October 14, 2007
Speaker: Michael Fisher
Title: What are You Guys Doing, 2007

We've got a big vision as a church, and a lot of times, when people hear it, their response is, "What are you guys doing?" But the point is not what are we doing, but what is God doing. We want to preach the gospel, make disciples, raise up leaders, and establish churches until the whole earth is filled with the glory of the Lord! It's not about Cornerstone - it's about THE Cornerstone, Jesus, and bringing glory to His name.

Samson

Date: Sunday, October 7, 2007
Speaker: Brian Shuler
Title: Samson

Brian Shuler looks at the life of Samson, one of the men of the Bible who perhaps had the greatest gifting and the greatest potential, yet he threw so much of it away by foolishness and selfishness. Thankfully, we have the story of Samson recorded, so we can learn from his mistakes and not repeat them.

Acts 11:19-30 - The Apostolic Commission

Date: Sunday, September 30, 2007
Speaker: Michael Fisher
Title: Acts 11:19-30 - The Apostolic Commission

We've been going through the book of Acts since September 2006, one chapter, one story, at a time, and this week, in Acts 11:19-30, we see Paul and Barnabas heading to Antioch to teach and train the new disciples in the ways of the Kingdom of God. This is the Apostolic Commission, that we would not just preach the gospel and get people saved, but that we would establish the kingdom of God wherever we set foot. It's about making disciples, changing lives, and bringing the world into the culture of the Kingdom of God.
